March 15, 2002 - New York - Taystes.net, co-produced by Jenny Marketou and the Banff Center for the Arts, has been included in "CTRL[SPACE]: Rhetorics of Surveillance From Bentham to Big Brother" by Thomas Y. Levin, Ursula Frohne and Peter Weibel (MIT Press). Designed in collaboration with dotsperinch, Taystes.net evokes the erotic tension of watching and being watched. By integrating surveillance and communication technologies from web cams to user logs and chat rooms, the site explores the new vectors of desire that erupt in an increasingly networked world. Prior to being included in Levin, Frohne, and Weibel's book, Taystes.net premiered at the Zentrum fur Kunst und Multimedia, Karlsruhe, Germany and has been exhibited at museums, galleries and festivals around the world. about Jenny MarketouJenny Marketou is an artist whose work investigates the "illusive world of techno science and collective memory by means of smell "odors", sounds, color, the internet , [and] data mapping processes."
